I like water soluble pencils very much, but it takes a while to get the hang of them. This is a good first effort. These days I tend to use a mix of watercolour and these pencils.

Cheers Lew. There's no white in pencils, so I used watercolour little to highlight. The rest, I can see the faults already. I should have left the rainbow effect alone. I just need to practise.

I think you have done very well with them Jim. I use them on occasions but must admit not used completely on a painting.

Lovely bird in motion and the colours are attractive - like all new things, Jim, it’ll take a few goes before you begin to see what they can do. I wonder if the surface of the paper makes a difference, it does with oil pastels.

I'm a watercolour man and have only ever used pencils once before. My daughter bought me a tin of Derwent water soluble colour pencils for my birthday a few days ago. Had to take my time a bit with this and I obviously need much practise, but I'll stick at it. Not got the hang of it yet.
