Ah yes, Jim. A blast from the past. 1952 in London was the big one for me. I went to the Saturday morning pictures, came out at midday to find the street as black as night. The tram conductors were walking in front of the trams, which were literally crawling along. The 'good old days' doesn't quite apply here.

A treat today's generation missed out on, (thankfully) the thick blankets of fog where you literally could get lost crossing the street and driving was a nightmare.. Hard to represent in paint but I had a go in a mixed media, abstract/impressionist way.....
