1950, just five years after the war ended, massive unemployment of servicemen, dole, rationing, lean times for all (well, most), Spam, potted salmon and beef paste standard lunch fare with brawn and tripe. .....And not a Cafe Latte in sight. (-: I was eleven years old in 1950 and it was a reality. Just thought I'd have a change of era.....
