Rowena, ward of Saxon Sir Cedric of Rotherwood, was the love of Wilfred of Ivanhoe's life in Sir Walter Scott's classic novel Guy. Another star-crossed tale of her ward (guardian) wanting her to marry someone else (Athelstane). Ivanhoe got the girl in the end....(-:
