Thanks Michael and Lewis. All too often paintings with religious connotations are dismissed for their topic rather than any artistic value. I know this from a spell in the antiques trade years ago where paintings of religious and moonlight themes were least popular. Never mind, us ex altarboys will keep the flag flying...(-:

saw a terrific photograph and decided to try and reproduce a version in paint. I used mixed media, mainly charcoal with a couple of light washes and some white gel highlighting. No way to reproduce the perfection of a camera, but I'm not displeased with the result. A possible future acrylic painting maybe?
