Lovely Jim, now I do like his music.

This puts me 'in the mood' and fond memories of going to watch the Syd Lawrence band every year with my late father, great sound great tribute.

Thanks David, Margaret and Andre. Never saw the Syd Lawrence band Andre, but did see many others of the big band era including a Miller tribute band I forget the name of, and I have a great music collection. I saw live, several times the like of Ted Heath, Stan Kenton, Jack Parnell, Johnny Dankworth, Ray Ellington etc, and many others. A fabulous era I was priveleaged to live through. Artie Shaw doing "Begin the Beguine" is as good as band music gets for me.
