Hi Walter, I like this painting, the way the buildings in the background add depth to the picture. May I ask if this and the Highland scene are painted in oils, and where is Ferryden, is it a town or village etc? Well done.

I think this is watercolour?? Lovely muted feel to the colours - lots of interest in the compostion.

The details in this painting are excellant. Very well done.

Lovely Painting Walter. I do love that washing line. They are really blowing. Very well done.

Another excellent addition to your watercolour portfolio. Is this Ferrydon near Montrose? Like the way you've depicted the foreground and the recession of the houses, almost a sea mist effect.

Hi Thea, Jeannette, Val, Max and Norman, Many thanks for your kind comments about the painting of Ferryden. It is painted in acrylics for most part with a lot of water and no white. After the basic washes were done, I painted the foreground with thicker acrylics including white. Ferryden is an east coast village just south of Montrose in Scotland. I have to confess that I have never been there - this is from a reference photo supplied by Liz Yule, the teacher at our local art group. Happy painting - Walter - www.walterwatsonart.com

Another picture full of character. I'm having a great time looking at your portfolio, just love it all.
