Wow! That is excellent Wendy. You've certainly succeeded with all the different textures.

That's excellent work, Wendy. The use of bluetack is a good tip.

Great textures, and love the little creature looking out to see if it's safe.

Top marks Wendy, excellent work.

An excellent drawing in graphite Wendy, the rabbit, wheel with grass and leaves looks super!

I have Mikes book and did one online course with him. I fully appreciate the skill and patience necessary to complete even a tiny part of this drawing. The textures and variety of tones are so well executed. You should be delighted with it

Gosh that’s really good Wendy, and the bluetack idea sounds like one to Try!

A really great work, Wendy, super textures

Thank you all for your generous and encouraging comments. Mike Sibley is a wonderful tutor and I cannot recommend his weekend courses enough - I've done a couple now - and his book, 'Line to Life', is never far from my drawing board. He introduced me to the use of Blu Tack - just roll it over the graphite (don't rub) or dab and it lifts it off the paper without doing any damage to the support. Also good for fading out backgrounds. Have a look at his website and online courses at www.sibleyfineart.com

Graphite on Mellotex paper. The result of a course with Mike Sibley. An exercise in textures - rust, wood, fur, foliage, bricks and mortar using just a 2B lead and Bluetack to lift off unwanted graphite.
