The Onion

James,lovely shape to the onion and I like the slight shadow. Maybe a bit of a change in tone for a highlight would give more form? Just lift with a damp brush where you want the highlight. Hope you don't mind my humble suggestion. Love the ladybird.

Thanks Carole, On my first attempt I did do what you said and the highlight worked, but I made my shadow too dark so I ripped up the first one, and did this one - looks like I must have either forgot the highlight or over worked it!
