I did a double take when I saw that someone else has posted a painting of the same view. The bottom part of this is, strangely, what catches my eye. I know there is a lot of black volcanic debris in Iceland, is that what this is, in the water?

Hi Marjorie it is like a black shingle beach that I imagine would be covered over in full spate, and there are still patches of ice on top. My son and I were able to walk right up to the ice strip and beyond, which was wet but great fun. Skogafoss is 60m high, 9m more than Niagra falls.

Wow, I've been to Niagra so I know what that's like.
