Very good work Martin. I especially like the strongly painted trees and House.

I like it and the slight curves to paths and house add interest.

Beautiful scenery, Martin. A super painting, well done! Love the way you painted the trees.

This is so lovely Martin. I like the difference between the looseness of the trees and complexity of the structure of the building.

Good tonal contrasts Martin. Well done.

Thanks Stephen Heathery Mia Spencer and Dympna. Very supportive and much appreciated

A wonderful trip down memory lane for me Martin. I’ve spent a few Sunday afternoons watching the local cricket matches with my dad…eggy sandwiches and flask of tea! You’re right, the pavilion is very intricate with its patchwork of the directional log structure and various levels of thatching. It’s anything but clumsy Martin, you’ve successfully captured the patina of the old place nestled in the wonderful backdrop of mature trees.

Thanks Fiona Glad it brought back memories and kind of you to comment positively

Each time I visit Clumber Park I pass the cricket ground and the wonderful thatched pavilion so last week on my monthly visit with my art group I thought I’d at last have a go at it. Started En plein air with pencil and completed in studio with pen and watercolour. I think it’s a bit clumsy but I was pleased with the sketch as it’s not a simple building. I wanted to include the large trees behind but I’ve not done them justice. On Saunders watercolour cp block 16x12
