It’s rather beautiful, the soft colours and the sharp edges…..’Hidden Kingdom’

Lovely abstract colours and shapes.

It reminds me of water hyacinths Martin……they float on the surface of water and have lovely leaves and Iris/orchid shaped flowers. They can be invasive and form mats of tangled leaves much like this. But here and there where the dark shadows are, you can see in to the depths. I really like it.

The result is most effective, Martin. I think I may have a go of watercolour on Pastelmat!!

Thanks Marjorie. That’s a much better title

Thanks Fiona. I can see something of what you mean. They have weird floaty bits don’t they

Thanks David. You should have a go. It’s good fun but have plenty of pigment if you’re using a dark ground

I think Marjorie's title is a great one. The more you look the more you see ... a very happy accident I think

Gorgeous! Beautiful use of muted colours. Lovely blends.

Thanks Heather I agree with all you say

Thanks Spencer. Very kind

The colours are great Martin and it certainly has a fluid feel to it as if suspended in water.

Martin I feel very chuffed!😆😆😆

That’s great Marjorie. So pleased you are. Such a good title. Thanks!!!

The effects are beautiful, I really like how it turned out.

I need your help with a title. I thought I’d try watercolour on charcoal Pastelmat. Aimed at goldfish in a pond in view of one of my recent postings. However the very fluid watercolour I used didn’t stay put. It bled and spread. It also lost most of its colour. So I played around with more washes, emphasised edges, intensified colour etc. Oddly I like the result but it’s not what I set out to do. More an abstract of kelp? 40x30cm Watercolour on Pastelmat
