I’ve been working on a number of giraffe paintings using photos taken at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. I’m trying to create an image which shows the fragility of these magnificent creatures who are fast disappearing from our world. All 9 species of giraffe are either vulnerable or endangered. This image uses the background colour as the colour of the patches on the coat in an attempt to show they are melting away. Watercolour and acrylic medium on Arches not watercolour paper 16x12”
