Calais sands at low water

I like this a lot Trevor, really interesting and well done. If I might make one suggestion I would say that the cloud/smoke reflection on the sand on the lhs needs to be lighter as it looks a little odd as is. Hope you don't mind me saying this.

Thanks Heather, I take your point about the shadow value. I was working from an image downloaded onto my laptop, enlarged and then printed out, so there were quite a number of opportunities for the values to get distorted! Then of course I had to rely on my judgement! I am someone who gets to the "it's the best I can do and I can't be bothered to try and correct it any more" stage and need to go onto something else.
