Ivy and Sorbus Berries

Ivy and Sorbus Berries

Stunning painting, Jackie. every part of the plants so carefully observed and accurately painted. And I love the way they escape the boundary of the background. What a delight!

You work in a very different way to the way I work and I don't often comment much on detailed paintings but I must say that this one is superb. I love the subtle background as is graduates from a cool to a warmer tint as you go down. Subtle and brilliant.

Great composition Jackie so beautifully painted, looks lovely on the warm background.

I agree with all the thoughts above Jackie, remarkable detail and use of colour.

This painting was compose when I found a spray of Sorbus Berries that were growing through a hedge of Common Ivy. I love the Autumn and its colours so I choose the combination of golds and oranges as a background.
