I'd tone down the pink of the adam's apple just slightly; it's a bit prominent and some brighter highlights on the collar. Can you soften just the edges of the black spot on the left of the neck as you look at it? Which direction does the light come from? It's hard to tell as both sides of the head are the same tones. Just minor points; coming along really well. Good sculpting of the muscles.

Another lovely portrait - agree about the background

As I can't do a dog portrait to save my life, I am impressed by this painting. Lovely dog and I'm not sure I agree about a darker background as I rather like the lightness of the whole work.

I think this picture is gorgeous, well done.
