Beautiful angle, so many horse pics are just the head. really enjoy this. Lovely.

The pastel gives this painting a lovely feeling and an unusual treatment for a horse which is soft and casual but very skilful .I love this.Did you paint from a photo?

Thank you for your kind comments, as you can probably tell my passion is animals, but i do like to try to find unusal photo's, i take my camera every where just in case i see something interesting to paint, i loved the angle of this arab horse and just had to have a go, all of my paintings are taken from photographs. my memory isn't that good.

tracy, thank you for your help on sanding the pastels - must be difficult to do landscapes on velour, was at David Bell/Kenny Keal holiday last year and she used that sandpaper called Fischer for her landscapes. I think I was trying to put too much pastel on the paper and will keep practising on the spare paper. Each new medium is difficult and I find none of them easy. This one is brilliant again - love the colours and thanks for comments on watercolur, thought she looked pregnant without the scarf added to dress. The link on the forum for viewing is under exhibitions and is called "invitation to view" with link to your painting.
