I love painting architecture and Bath is famous for this. I normally do not include too many figures in cityscapes, however, in this one, I thought it would be interesting to add a number of figures. I normally paint buildings in watercolour, but with this one I thought it would suit oil and as I had just purchased some Michael Harding paints I wanted to try out. These paints are brilliant and don't think I would use anything else now for fine detailed work.
