I agree with Beatrice, the work on the cardigan is marvellous. The light on the face, especially the shadows cast by the wisps of hair, is beautiful.

Thank you Beatrice and Lesley for your encouraging comments. Yes, I didn't find the cardigan easy to do and very time consuming. It actually took longer to do than the face. Once again, thanks.

Lovely portrait, so much detail but it is so restrained that it doesn't overwhelm. The cardigan is superb as well.

This is quite a large watercolour painting of my son Michael. Watercolour is not an easy medium for portraits, however, I like to build up layers and layers of colours to get bold colour, and this is achievable with the medium. I do accept portrait commissions.
