Looking good, you're definitely working well with the medium

It certainly looks like a cloudy scene, nice work its great to experiment and learn .

Liking the look of this latest experiment - have you seen the work of Andrew Barrowman, I wonder? He posts videos to Youtube, probably does Patreon as well. He works primarily out in the open, with casein paint AND charcoal - I think you'd find his approach, or approaches, interesting and probably quite helpful. I've never tried charcoal on primed cartridge - must give that a try.

I think the experimentation is paying dividends. Really impressed with some of the textures.

Very impressive work Anthony. I really like this. I shall be having a go myself at some point.

Looking out to sea on a cloudy day in winter. Another charcoal drawing, this time on gesso coated cartridge paper. this one has come out reasonably. I'm trying various types of support for charcoal drawing so most submissions are experimental as I begin to get to grips with the medium. As well as using willow charcoal, I've also employed charcoal pencils all aided and abetted by kneadable eraser, electric eraser, kitchen paper and various scraping and scratching implements.
