This is a strong painting, and you've got an array of textures with, so far as I can tell, just using thick acrylic paint with no additional texturing material; of course, I could be wrong about that, but either way, it still works. I sense your sadness at the death of the tree - and that's something I feel myself, whenever I see a tree felled or uprooted. The play of light is particularly well done, as is your use of strong darks: too many of us are frightened of darks, but without them we've got no light, and not much shape either.

It's a very interesting interpretation Anthony and you have portrayed it well.

I like this a lot and your narrative is food for thought

Acrylic on unstretched canvas. Another fallen tree, seen end on at its roots where it was wrenched from the earth. It seemed to me, it was shouting something, loudly and in pain. perhaps too young to return to from where it came.
