I like this painting Tony - it is a lovely subject choice and mixed media is exciting to use. I am a fan of Mike Bernard too - we have two of his paintings. You might also like to look at the work of Martin Proctor - do a' Google image's search for 'Martin Proctor art'. He has a website but his style has changed and consequently it doesn't contain as many of the images of buildings.

Hi Julie thanks for the comments.I have seen Martin Proctor`s paintings and i like his interpretation of his landscapes ,there simplicity and choice of colour and tone.I think my favourite painting of his are when he paints harbours with the harbour town buildings.

I have three paintings by the artist Mike Bernard RI,and love his work. http://www.mikebernardri.com/ This inspired me to try a painting using bits of newspaper and magazines. My holiday to Florence gave me the subject matter of the rooftops. I painted the sky to look very bright but to also be irrelevant so that the rooftops look like they are a collage built up onto the painting. I welcome any comments good or bad,esp bad if its constructive criticism as that will only improve my paintings.
