Nice. As a local I've considered doing a lot of wolds stuff.... but I never actually produce anything I like. I find the landscape really difficult to capture as it's so... well... undramatic. This I do like though and it really does capture the landscape.

Hi, Ade, Glad you like the work. Suprised you find the Wolds "so-well- undramatic." I have been painting this area sucessfully for the last 15 years after moving to it and David Hockney has done some wonderful stuff here for the last 6 or 7 years when he moved back from USA just to paint it. And I do know a host of others who are amature or semi professional following in our paths. Would hope you look with new eyes and see the wonders around here. Best of luck, enjoy the experience. Tony

Beautiful, uncluttered painting. Love the hawthorns and the brilliant blue sky. I can smell the blossom.

So? What's the secret Tony? My compliments!

Hi Kim, Good technique and lots of practice, importannt to hit the paper only once when possible with the paint to keep it clean and light. Do not be afraid of darks they make a painting work. Appreciate the complements

Working with a group of students on one of my Art Breaks in Yorkshire courses we visited the Wolds valley of Millington when the Hawthorn trees where in full bloom. It was a wonderful hot sunny day for us all to enjoy with the Hawthorn at its best.
