Yes - you do indeed capture the moment - I almost thought it was one of mine at first glance! :-) Can you manage to paint one quickly enough to do it on site as the sunsets? Its great fun - you only have about ten mins in all though.

A very good pastel painting- lots of drama. That sky is particularly well done as is your foreground.

What a lovely picture. I wish I could have been at your workshop! I know Appin quite well but live on one of the islands of the West Coast so wouldn't have been able to make it anyway. A great painting.

Just spotted this lovely pastel on random gallery. Really beautiful, the colours are perfect.

Painted to capture the dramatic light of low sun over the mountains and loch of the West coast of Scotland. Created following a visit to Appin, Scotland to do workshops with art groups in March 2008. The work is created in Derwent pastel blocks and pencils.
