I love your gallery Tony. You obviously like drama in your paintings.

So pleased you love the work. To me the creation of art must come from the heart as much as the motif.

This dramatic sunset was painted with Atelier Interactive Acrylics on a stretched canvas whilst tutoring art group on art holiday with me on the Yorkshire Wolds. The blazing colours of the sunset dramatically emphasised by the shades and tones of the dark purple/blues of the gathering night storm clouds made this a really exciting subject to capture. Working with the Atelier Interactive Acrylic allows me to use many traditional oil techniques incorporating lots of blending not normally available to acrylics. The sky is developed by applying a generous underpainting of tinting white which then allows other colours to be worked into establishing a whole whoste of colours, tones and hues which resonate with each other as an atmospheric entirety.
