Pencil sketch of Alice, my wife's bridesmaid, sheltering under a wet copy of the Liverpool Echo, waiting in a queue on a wet July afternoon in 1953. She was an avid fan of Frank Sinatra who was appearing at the Liverpool Empire at the time. My wife was alongside her sheltering under a Marks and Spencer shopping bag.
