This was the first time I had used graphite powder and cotton buds to do a portrait. I didn't even intend to draw Mr Hetfield, I just happened to have a picture of him in my son's magazine to hand and intended to merely use it as a guide to draw a face from my imagination, but as I put more and more detail in it inevitably turned into the singer anyway!

Self taught artist specialising in portraits, mostly with various forms of pencil but particularly in graphite. Tim hails from Ipswich in the rural South East of England, and still lives nearby, out in the pleasant rolling hills of "Constable Country".
