This portrait was a commission by my son and his partner. It is painted with Artisan oils. I have painted it from a photograph so I was inclined to blend the paint just as it showed in the photograph. I made the mistake of leaving it untouched for days at a time and found that when I had to mix flesh paint again it was never the same and I had to blend whole areas again. Now I mix several shades of flesh colour and store them in airtight little jam pots. We live and learn!
