Super structures and colours Thea! The central sign post for the composition is special. Everyone else might have used the artistic freedom to not show it. I guess you left it for reasons you explain in your profile.

Thank you so much for your comments. Yes I left the sign post there as I see it as how it is. My autistic Son (who I am painting these for) is extremely visual and doesn’t like changes at all. So I left the post how it was. I did actually higher the sign up as it was cutting through the top of the bridge, so do make small alterations but don’t think he noticed this X

This is a ‘Red Bascule Bridge’ in Wapping, London, that crosses over Shadwell Basin. In the distance you can see ‘The Prospect of Whitby’ pub. 30cm x 30cm Oil on canvas. About my painting project… I have begun a small project, painting local places and nature around where I live and places we visit, which mean a lot to my children and myself. My youngest Child is at a specialist school and is very visual, he is really interested seeing me paint scenes he recognises…
