My students fell in love with the Matisse portrait of his wife in a hat yesterday, 'Lady in a Hat', we had so much fun and laughter painting a self portrait in the same style and hat. Sometimes we just have to let ourselves go which was exactly what I hoped would happen. All tightness in their work disappeared like magik!
