Mgarr Hot
This is the painting from yesterday, I feel it says what I wanted to convey. It was mid day light, so overhead and not the best light to paint plein air in. I have deliberately not painted the right hand side too much. What attracted me was all the complicated radio masts and railings etc, and of course the ever present sea ducks and their families. It is painted on hot pressed Bockingford 300gsm, as I wanted the effects of the pale painted sea standing proud on the paper, making the special gentle backruns that hopefully happen on HP paper, then I glazed on the top, just suggestions here and there, as there were no ripples that day. Hopefully I've captured it ...
