Beautiful! Love the colour of the water.

Really love this Thalia

Love this Thalia. The. Olouurs of the rocks boring out the luminosity of the water.

Gorgeous colours - love that green!

Lovely Thalia. Striking colour effects.

Thank you Liezel, Hannah, Carole, Margaret and Jim, Viridian has got to be a favourite colour of mine! Really appreciate your kind comments.

Really nice painting Thalia, I like the high viewpoint - the oil paint lends a solidity to the rock face also.

Love the view ,rocks , beautiful water, Thalia.

Love the colour of the water Thalia, beautifully executed.

Thank you, really appreciate these comments, Chrissie, Annick and Fiona, I agree about the thick oil paint creating the rocks, even so i had to have three goes at them !!!

That is a great colour in that Water Thalia... a bold step.

Hang on Studio Wall

Painted this whilst tutoring a workshop last week, trying to encourage my students to paint more loosely. I have painted this scene of Xlendi before, in watercolour, and I feel it also works well in oils. The rocks are hard to paint, and best painted fast with a knife...perspective at this high angle not easy, either! I used a very limited palette, and yes, the sea is really that green because of the shallow water over the sand...when it's calm!
