Painted this whilst tutoring a workshop last week, trying to encourage my students to paint more loosely. I have painted this scene of Xlendi before, in watercolour, and I feel it also works well in oils. The rocks are hard to paint, and best painted fast with a knife...perspective at this high angle not easy, either! I used a very limited palette, and yes, the sea is really that green because of the shallow water over the sand...when it's calm!
