I love these watercolours Thalia they are vibrant. Love your pouring blending, look forward to seeing next stage. I'm envious that you can grow these as I only get the beautiful leaves and no flowers. There are two types apparently the Spinosa is the best for flowering they say. Love this beginning :)

Thank you dear Carole and Margaret. They grow wild here on Gozo, but only where there is a water source We are actually classed as desert in the summer! I slid down a very wet bank on my rear to cut these!! Just finished one painting, started a second!!!

Yes! Really! Acanthus Mollis is their proper name, so gorgeous and just beginning to show their beauty again. This is going to be a very loose study. I am using Dr Martin's PH fluid watercolours, had to wait all night for this to dry so far!!! Pouring technique with a little scratching with a bamboo pen as they are truly prickly!!! More work to form the shapes I think, but don't want to overwork them...thoughts anyone?
