Lovely work Tahar, I have been to Sowerby Bridge several times and you have caught the feeling of the place very well.

Smashing piece Tahar and just my sort of scene. Not easy but you have nailed it.

Thank you Stephen and Derek for your nice comments. :-)

For a first attempt at a street scene it is superb. Doing evening scenes is I think quite difficult and I think this has worked very well here. Congratulations also for being selected as a gallery of the month.

Such a lot of info and colour in this Tahar and a real feel of a winter evening - I love that electric blue. The rest of your gallery is superb too.

Thank you Joseph and Marjorie for your nice comments.

This is such a skilful painting on so many levels

Oil on Canvas 30cm x 40cm I always wanted to do some urban paintings and this is my first attempt in Oil for the little town I live in, which is called Sowerby Bridge. Sowerby Bridge town is situated about three miles from Halifax town centre. It is at the confluence of the River Calder and River Ryburn, and the name Sowerby Bridge references its situation as a crossing point over the River Calder to the older settlement at Sowerby.
