Hehe....Thank you Derek....have to own up & say viewing your work has helped me loosen my sketching which I needed as was taking far too long and too much detail every time. This may not be correct in perspective etc but is definitely more fun!

When I first saw this I thought it was one of our Derek's.....very brave to tackle such an imposing structure Sylvia, you've made a lovely loose but definitely identifiable pen & wash of this grand glasshouse.

I thought this was another one of Derek's, Sylvia. It's lovely, the glass is so transparent and I love the jardinieres.

As said above I do like it and am very flattered on Sylvia's comments. I am not proposing to copyright my style, please feel free to raid it. My sketches are much looser these days as I hold the pen much nearer the blunt and, the brush too. It's the result of feelings having deserted my fingers. It's a nightmare trying to be accurate though.

Aw Derek....thank you... I didn't think of the huge structure Fiona....just liked the whole scene. I gave in and used my wheel chair for the day to make sure I got round as much of the gardens as poss in the time I had...hence I was sitting very comfortably and just went for it as time was limited and eh voila....thanks to derek :) Ellen & Adele...thank you xx

Simple lines and just a hint of wash - great outcome and a great reminder. Kew Gardens - my wife and I had our first date there so special memories for me too.

Great sketch Sylvia. I think it is partly your inherent draughtswomanship which explains some similarity with Derek. It is a talent being able to get all those marks in the right places.
