Brilliant idea Sylvia, everyone receives a mini masterpiece! Almost a calligraphic quality to this :)

Really lovely and just up my street, Sylvia. I am finding I am moving away from sitting down to do a lengthy 'proper' painting in favour of sketches and immediate and spontaneous work. I find your feelings and emotions come through more strongly with work like that. P.S. Did you see I did a plein air sketch of my grandsons learning to surf, I'm getting there, lol!

I had missed your surfer pic Thea... It is great fun and of the moment. And thankyou and Lesley for looking and liking.

Bold, exciting, favourite flower, juicy washes, dark ink bleeding into strong reds, and best of all no faffing about. One of your best. (Not that you usually faff about..)

Read your comment on my e mail page Robert it never gives a signature but I knew straight away that it was you.
No I am not a faffer ...straight in there with my size fives.

Great impression of poppy, good idea Sylvia to use bits up for cards.

Such a lovely loose sketchy poppy Sylvia! How I wish I could stop faffing and just get in there with the brush but despite all the one liners etc I've been doing I still can't. I've spent most of today drawing Zentangle style puffins which I am just about to post. Take a look and you'll see what I mean!

What a result great piece Sylvia

So confidently done and so effective - so minimal and eye-catching.

Wow I didnt know my little paint scribble on a scrap of paper would be so well received. Thank you.

There's something about the characteristics of the poppy that makes you want to throw paint about and before you know it, there is a little gem staring back at you...like this one.

What a great idea Sylvia! I might borrow it if that's ok.
Thank you for your comments on my work also!

Oh do use my use of old pics....I just turn them over to the blank side cut to size and paint the pic. I also had the blank cards and envelopes . A local gallery has taken some on a sale or return basis. So I might evenn make enough to buy a bottle of wine ! . If not then I have lots of cards to give my friends...win win .

A beautiful, bold poppy Sylvia and, yes it will make a great card too.

Love your use of brushes in this - a few simple looking strokes placed to make a beautifully balanced painting, not as easy as it looks, beautiful. THe moleskine book I use at present is the larger size, each page is approx A4 so it is still ok to carry while out walking and thank you for your kind comments on my sketches.

Thanks Norah... Because I'm using up bits and pieces I literally just go for it, no finesse or pre thought and it works, if it was a posh bit of paper all pristine and beautiful I would fall flat on my face , so scrap paper is the answer.
I think I am settling on A 4 moleskine though I have some lovely A 3 ones. I have filled about a dozen A5 and they are still handy in a small back pack. Lovely Moleskine .

Hi Sylvia. Thank you for your comments on my dancers. It was interesting to see the various responses to 'usual' to the 'unusual' wasn't it?

Have been painting small pieces of Watercolour paper , cutting up old discarded stuff. Then squaring them up and sticking onto greeting cards . This one was fun to do. Ink .
