Yes, I think you have. Good recession and light on the stones - wouldn't want to walk across them bare - footed!

P.s. Don't think you need to alter or add to the tones, they seem just right to me.

Excellent stuff Sylvia, now I'm torn between this and the 'sketch' I think I prefer this, but there again... You only think you need extra darks cos you've done it and want to fiddle, no painting is 'finished.' Someone once said that a painter needs someone standing over him to snatch away the brushes before the painting is spoiled. Best Mick

Me? I thought of Brighton... on a *very* sunny day. But that's because I used to live in Brighton. And, now that I come to think of it, I can't remember the sea being blue there at all... green, at best, I think. ~~ It's a lovely painting, an unusual angle, and I think it works very well as it is.

... and impressive stones they are! I have made pact with myself. When I think I have finished, I never touch the painting again ie I don't then look for more to do because Mick is right ....
