Wow Sylvia, very dramatic.....full of atmosphere and colour. Like it!

Are your oil pastels getting on a bit? They shouldn't just fall into nothing - maybe they're a bit dried out. Anyway, you've got a strong result here (wouldn't it be wonderful, in passing, if we could afford everything in the art catalogue....?).

Works well for me so keep using them - I am probably one of the least experimental of souls(waterclour and ink is as far as I get) so it's great to see how others get on.

I like this image and the marks in the foreground. It sounds as if you pushed this picture as far as you can.On a metaphorical level, painting is often not a," bed of roses",and pushing things further, experimenting and using new materials is what its about.

Thanks one and all . I do apreciate you looking and commenting. No Robert these are not my usual ancient materials. But recent Sennelier oil pastels. They really do just disiintergrate. So sad because the colours are lovely. I am still digging colour from under my nails from yesterday.

Well done, some lovely misty light in the sky and you are brave, oil pastels and I have never seemed to get along very well....

I think that this is just great Sylvia. Oil pastels aren't they a pain to use ? I have painted the welsh waterfal photo that you posted on the forum ages ago now. Thank you very much for doing that. I thourally enjoyed painting it, and downloaded it to the site today :)Maybe on page 22 by now :)

just beautiful, almost kindergardenish, very humbling for an artist my caliber to watch your genius work

Taken with a bit of licence from one of my holiday sketches. Found myself nit picking and threw the brushes away and got out the terribly messy oil pastels. They just fall into nothing, I don't think I shall replace them... but being a penny pinching soul I SHALL use them up. Not too sure about this . But it has stopped me whinging about the weather.
