Like looking at this. If only Bartolini could see it, what might he think of the various ways we appreciate his art?well thought out sketches are just as interesting to look at I think.

( I meant rather than a full blown painting which may have taken hours)

Poor Venus - she must have a numb bum by now! I love your sketch, Sylvia, done in the true spirit of urban sketching. Super light washes as well which are just right.

Had a lovely day today in the Lady Lever gallery in Birkenhead. I sat and drew this lovely Venus sculpted by Lorenzo Bartolini about 1870. I did my usual and just wanted to get an impression of the whole and sod the detail. Great fun. Well with a visit if you are ever that direction.
