Not an Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek moment at all - love the colours, and the twisting branches.

A day very well spent Sylvia, lovely colours and composition and a nice abstract feel to it too!

Lovely work! Funnily enough, I've been thinking about magnolia blossom against a blue sky....surely your magnolia isn't in bloom yet Sylvia? Going back to it, there's a very oriental feel to it.

Plenty in bloom in my area and this a very accomplished painting of them - look so good against the blue of the sky.

A beautiful painting of a beautiful tree Sylvia :)

Thank you everyone for looking and commenting. Don't know where you live Marjorie but most Magnolias have come out this last week. Sadly the huge winds we have had today have really buffeted it and ripped at the blossom. I know people think that Wales is wet and cold but we have had some lovely sunshine.

After seeing a Magnolia being battered and swayed in a brutish fashion its beautiful petals dashed and slapped on the wet ground. This has the movement of such a scene. I see in the top right a few delicate petals heading for the same fate. Lively work, Sylvia.

Lovely painting Sylvia. Bad photograph. Love the colours.

thank you for looking CA Jones and Kal . It really was a dreadful day and I can see this shrub Fom my window , it's poor petals were being blown everywhere. Yes Kal it is a naff photograph, I did it on my iPad which is not a good camera especially in a bad light. I usually do better but was feeling a bit somulent .

My magnolias were suffering the same fate. I wait all year for them to bloom and then the blasted wind tries to blow all the petals away. Luckily mine have survived - just! This is a beautiful painting - the flowers are so well done with great texture to them as well. I also love how you have got so much light into each flower - love the painting.

Thanks Thea. I just love Magnolias they just lend themselves to be painted.

Well the rest of the country seems to be bathed in warmth and sunshine, wet , cold and horrid here. My poor Magnolia has been battered by high winds . So I resurrected some of it. Had a play and did this , just put my brushes down. Will probably look at it tomorrow and go Eeeeeeek.
