In search of the sweetest nectar. Humming bird in flight
I rarely paint birds. Getting the beak, the eye and the feathers right are always difficult actions to put into practice. Having drawn the bird, I used black ink pen for the outline thinking I would shade the painting with pencil. But decided to paint in water colour. I had the mammoth task of painting so that the black lines on the upper half of the body were covered. I think the yellow greenish background actually adds considerable value to the painting. It's a very small work of about 4 inches or so.
