Not sure on the tree type, but love your painting of it through the seasons Sunil, lovely colour changes, lovely idea painting it how you have

Great rendition of the tree - as for its type would need to see the leaf shape

Can't help with the species of tree - it could be one of several (now isn't THAT helpful of me?) but you've produced a lovely study, and this was a very good and imaginative way of presenting it. (There is a species name trembling on the edge of my tongue, but equally helpfully, I can't put a name to it! Wish I'd kept my tree books ..... never, ever, get rid of books....)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I was most concerned when I began the painting two years ago in acrylics; it was a disaster and for the first time, I tore up one of my works. Then after a hiatus of a year, I began again, and I must say that whilst it took time, it has come out well. I was in Madison last month but being winter there were no leaves so I could not collect a sample myself. I decided to frame the four in a square format rather than lengthwise as its more compact.

This tree stands at the corner of Sheboygan and Eau Claire Avenues in Madison, Wisconsin. My son sent photos and wanted a painting of it through the four seasons. Primarily a water colour on paper, there is a little bit of pen work in the branches. Each completed painting is about 9” high, painted on Canson fine grain cold pressed 300 gms / 140 lbs paper. Can someone identify the name / type of tree for me ? Many thanks
