Like it, even if it does remind me of my late Auntie Olive, but suggest you just establish the broad shapes first and then refine them, as it were, inwards from the outline. It's a characterful drawing, but the only problem I have with it is that the big shapes don't quite come off - looked at in close detail (& I can't help but do that, since I'm very short-sighted!) the animal's muzzle seems to originate at some indeterminate point beneath his right eye, whereas in fact it sweeps down from a central point in the skull. This is why his left eye looks somewhat larger than his right: look at those directional lines, the grooves beneath the right eye, and compare with the left side of the face, and I hope you'll see what I mean. Even so, the overall expression is convincing - perhaps you just needed a touch more information, and would have benefited from visiting a zoo (or whatever) and taking a good long look at the critter him/herself.
