I like this very much. the subtle pink/crimson is the perfect shade and youve captured the stringy foliage as well. Nice. (Oh, and I like the smell of garlic).

Very well done. I hope the pesky shingles have gone now :)

Thank you for your comments. Much appreciated you taking a look at my work.

Beautifully done and such wonderfully subtle colours. Sorry you are poorly - having had shingles I know what you are going through.

Beautifully drawn and lovely shades of colour. Hope you feel better soon.

My kind of drawing, lovely. Get better soon.

You poor thing, shingles! dreadful. A brilliant way to distract you, at least one good thing came out of it!! Get well soon.

This is so beautifully done, Sue. It's really so classically elegant. I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and well wishes. There is such a feeling of community about POL, its such a great site.

Great work Sue can almost smell the garlic

A really good painting, Sue. I spent a week with Ann Swan at Dedham Hall. Her work is superb and so is this.

I drew this small picture (14 x 16 cm ) to distract myself from my shingles. An exercise adapted from Ann Swan's book, using coloured pencils, softened and blended with solvent then drawn over with fine pencil. I enjoyed this work and will try it again, but without the pungent smell of newly dug garlic next time.
