Sophie is lovely Deborah, very sweet, lovely eyes

Hey Deborah just looked back through your gallery to the tiger that you a were putting in an exhibition, how it do?

Lovely. It's hard to capture expressions but you've nailed it here.

thanky you all for your lovely comments it really is a confidence booster and I very much appreciate you taking time to do so thank you again! Ros in reply to your question about the tiger? he was only entered in an exhibition so no prizes except I sold the original, which I was stunned. it was the local art group I go to during the winter months (in the bowling green club house) Goxhill Art Group. Stan Short is our teacher and he is an amazing water colour artist, one of those hidden gems. well despite my enthusiasm to want to learn water colour techniques, I am not much good at them, but some of the amazing stuff Stan has taught me has helped in my pencil drawings and he is so proud of what I do. I just wish I could return the favour by being better at water colour. I still go because I love his lessons, its in an idyllic setting, we are all happy bunch of amateurs and most of all we have a giggle, sometimes at Stans expense, but then hes a giggle and asks for it and his wife Mave keeps us in tea and bikkies. so whats there not to make you go back for more eh? lol

Super description of how you came to do these artworks Deborah! And what a little joy your local art club sounds to be! I have no doubt reading this many of us would love too go to this club, or versions of it, run by clones of Stan! How great that you sold your exhibition piece! Sounds like there is quite a thriving art community in your area, lucky you! Have you sold many?

Hi Ros sorry I'm on nights just got your post! Yes I've sold one or two prints! I do stuff for people of their pets e.g Sophie! Miso lucky I have a friend who's more a sister to me has really helped find clients and a lovely lady Sue who has some of my work in her animal feed place! Stan encouraged me to put a piece in his local library with other art work from our group! Despite its not watercolour! My dog groomer is going to put some bits in her shop for me! I am so grateful to so many people for their support! I don't intend this ever being more than a passion and it is all the more encouraging by how much passion people have in me! I will always be humbled by their generosity and support! Forever!! X

Hi Debs thanks so much for your lovely comment on my latest miniature painting the ACEO of the miniature Donkey, the original photo was so cute it was another one that i just had to have a go at!

Hi Debs, thanks for your lovely comment on mu Dalmation Pet Portrait, you do super pet portraits yourself in coloured pencil and sound like you Are brilliantly with them if you have been selling them, you don't need to bother with pastels or anything else, it doesn't matter if watercolour is not your thing we are all different with different skills, sounds like you have an idyllic setting at your art class with a super teacher who knows how good you are even though his own speciality is watercolour, and his lovely wife who makes coffee and cakes for you all, you keep going and get your coloured pencil work out there!

Hi Debs, just seen your lovely comment on my oil painting of the climbing boots, you are right about me being a bit of a dark horse I suppose, having just come back to art about 2 years ago when i discovered this site and decided it was time to do some more, after a break of about 25 years, I did quite a lot of things back then, the boots painting is about the only thing I have left from back then, but I am still getting a real kick out of how many comments I have had on that work and how it seems to strike a chord with so many people, and people like yourself are still only just finding it and seeming surprised by the fact I did do that, as I have said many times before there were no quick drying oils back then so one day I will give them a go, I have it firmly imprinted in my brain what a nightmare working with oils is and how it is not one for me now with all the business that goes with family life having to put newly painted oil work out of the way of pets and people would be mindboggling! Anyway back to the present day, did you know I am selling some of my pet portraits on eBay auction site under item number 221223242091 for the miniature aceo work and item number 221223244448 for the range of 5 A4 sized works, so if you would like to have a look at them go ahead, bye for now
