One of 5 VC's to be awarded at Arnhem Major Cain was the only one not to be awarded posthumously. Incredibly his family knew nothing of this until his death in 1974 when the medal was found in a drawer following his death. According to his future son in law, Jeremy Clarkson (BBC Presenter) he simply didn't think it was worth mentioning.
