The pier is in a bad state of repair and the end fenced off. I've taken some licence to get the feel of dramatic weather over this historic area which is reportedly where the first shell landed in WW1. However, it seems the warships first hit Scarborough before sailing north and doing more damage to the heavily industrialised Hartlepool. I was often here as a child.
