I love the deceptive simplicity of this, hard enough to draw one deckchair, but two...! It's a lovely visual journey from the chairs, to her big sunhat, the umbrella , then her dinky little bag. Very stylish.

Struggling with a beach composition, I started sketching deck chairs with charcoal pencil, added a figure under the sunshade and coloured with pastel pencils on tinted 80g. paper. Then inked over with a Waterman fountain pen to improve the definition. Just to prove that even one-legged girls can go to the beach!
