As you know I am not into abstracts but I appreciate skill and invention when I see it , the textures and colours are great and the three look terrific together, I bet they were pleased.

Stephen, these are really beautiful great modern colours. i like the fact that each panel works on its own but are enhanced when seen with thier partners. Superb. what criteria did you client give you ? why Wimbledon oh yes and how did you create that finish on the black. youll need to write an essay to answer all these questions !

Agree with the above comments. Each piece is wonderful and yet they stand on their own beautifully. It's a really wonderful set of paintings.

Thank you for the comments. Well Helen, would you believe that the paintings had to match the cushions that she has! That was the main criteria! At first it was to be large floral paintings, then after several designs she went off the idea and asked for an abstract, as long as it matched the cushions. I did one and sent the image for approval before doing the others. It's called Wimbledon because that is where the client lives. There is no real finish on the black, although i drew a comb through parts of the middle panel which highlights colours beneath, but you can't see them till you're close up. I have used some iridescent medium and large grain gel on parts of the paintings. I have yet to varnish them. The clients have only seen two canvases so far, they like them, they've just gone to Dubai for a week. If they're not happy with the middle canvas I can overpaint it. They should look good on the very large white wall that awaits.

Agree with Helen that each panel works well individually as well as all together. Happy painting!

Thanks for all the information stephen i think the cushions will be outshone by these paintings. You shouldnt even be thinking that you could redo the middle panel its great . somewhere i have read you have had an exhibition how has that gone. ? Glad you like my birdies someone decsribed long tailed tits as teenagers you always hear them before you see them. i just get sparrows on my bird table but they great to watch too.
