You captured the water pretty good Stephen.

Thanks Frank, always a tense time painting the water at the end!

It captures the light beautifully.

I agree with Frank, that water is just lovely.

Many thanks for your kind remarks, Dawn and Val.

Love this Stephen, beautiful

Many thanks Glennis.

Yes it works really well and love the water.

Many thanks once again Michael.

Yes the water is so good with the reflections. Also the trees are nice and loose with good tonal variation. Bit too green for me but everyone has there own preferences. I'd love to see this again with the tree greens knocked back a bit.

Many thanks for your constructive comments Alan. I always find masses of foliage tricky, I was pleased with the more distant trees on the right but think the middle section a bit wek, I have added a bit more colour to these since and they look a bit better. I suppose it's the challenge that makes us paint in watercolour!

I agree with everyone, lovely painting, nice water reflections

Super water and reflections Stephen, I also love the far distant hills and trees, gives a genuine feeling of depth.

I agree with Alan, Stephen, also to my eye I think the foliage low down might look a bit more airy if there were a few patches of white paper left unpainted. I can't work out what is so good about the reflections - by that I mean that they are really good, I hasten to add, but I can't work out what it is about them that makes them so. Nice light at the back of the painting too, the distant hills.

Many thanks Fiona and Caroline once again. Caroline, I agree with your comments, I started painting the more distant hills and trees on the right, which i thought worked well and perhaps ran out of steam as I progressed to the left! I might even crop the left hand side off and have a portrait shape from the right hand side.

Nice sunny day (for once), last Wednesday in this lovely country park near Stockport.
